With over four decades of experience in healthcare management and consulting, our founder, Bruce Krider, brings a wealth of expertise to our organization. During his extensive career, he served as a chief executive officer (CEO) for nine years and chief operating officer (COO) for three years at hospitals in Michigan. In addition, Bruce has provided consulting services to prominent multi-hospital chains, including National Medical Enterprises, Humana, HCA, Health One, HealthTrust—The Hospital Company, Baylor Medical Center, Adventist Health System, and Albert Einstein School of Medicine. His consulting portfolio also extends to engagements with various states, cities, and the U.S. government.

Bruce’s expertise is sought after by the banking industry, investment bankers, and investors who rely on his insights regarding the valuation of healthcare organizations. He has served as a consultant for the State of California, the City of Los Angeles, as well as leasing companies and lease insurance companies, providing valuable guidance on the appraisal of medical equipment values. With his diverse experience and extensive network, Bruce Krider is a trusted advisor in the healthcare industry, offering invaluable insights and expertise to clients across various sectors.

Healthcare Legislative Accomplishments

Mr. Krider has made significant contributions in shaping healthcare legislation, including his instrumental role in developing the case and language for the legislation that established an additional category of Medicare-participating hospitals under the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1986. His expertise and leadership have extended to serving as a chairman for a state hospital association and representing the Michigan Hospital Association in advocating for Capitation for Hospital Capital Spending before the state legislature.

Furthermore, Mr. Krider has been actively involved in shaping healthcare policies and standards. He served on the Michigan Department of Public Health task force responsible for developing Certificate of Need Criteria for Rehabilitation Facilities, contributing to the establishment of guidelines for such facilities. As a chief executive officer of a healthcare system, he displayed entrepreneurial vision by developing various healthcare businesses and initiating a regional consortium of hospitals, fostering collaboration and innovation within the healthcare community. Mr. Krider’s extensive experience and accomplishments highlight his profound impact on the healthcare landscape.

Education

Bruce earned his BA degree in Sociology at Elmira College (New York) in 1972. In 1976, he earned a Master of Arts Degree in Healthcare Administration at the Graduate School of Government and Business Administration, The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He also completed special strategic planning management studies at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He has completed a broad spectrum of national appraisal society coursework from both the Appraisal Institute and the American Society of Appraisers.

Published Works
He has published articles in a number of healthcare journals, and he is the author of Valuation of Physician Practices and Clinics, published by Aspen Publishers, 1997.
He also served as contributing author for the (2008 revised ) Estimated Useful Lives of Hospital Assets (American Hospital Association).
